Summer is rolling in and many local young people are considering their futures as they leave school. Every year I try to open my constituency and Westminster offices up to local students who want a week or a few days of work experience.
From letter writing and phone calls, to visits, meetings, press and diary management there are tasks for students of all skill levels. This week we had Lewis helping out, a young man studying politics and public services.
He got really stuck in, learning about the roles of MPs, councillors, sitting in on my meetings and having a go at helping with correspondence. I look forward to meeting many more students over the next few weeks.
If you're a school or student interested in getting involved in work experience next year, please do drop my office a line and we'll get you booked in.
