I know the Covid19 outbreak has been a challenging time for many, particularly when it comes to work. That's why I am pleased to see that the West Midland's Combined Authority has joined forces with Coursera the online learning platform with the aim of upskilling our local workforce.
From September to December the Authority will be sponsoring free online training courses through the platform, some even come with certification for job roles through the Workforce Recovery Initiative. So whether you're off work isolating, furloughed, working part time or in full time work and considering new roles, it you have a few hours a week to spare and an internet connection you may be able to benefit from this scheme.
The sponsorship has organised 3800 online courses and 4000 specialisations from universities all over the world as well as businesses like Google.
You can study at your own pace but you are asked to commit to the full course wherever possible.
