Visiting Lloyds Haulage

visiting lloyds transport

On Friday I had the opportunity to visit Lloyds Transport and Warehousing in Relay Drive.

The firm provide national haulage and logistics to some of the biggest brands and manufacturers across the United Kingdom.  They hire locally whenever possible both in their driving, warehousing and logistics roles.

It was great to have the opportunity to meet with the teams and with the Road Haulage Association to discuss some of the issues affecting the industry from recruitment and retention to supporting HGV drivers with better parking and rest facilities whilst on the road, customs checks for EU goods, how clean air zones are affecting the firm and cabotage rules.

I will be taking some of their concerns back to the DfT for further review and resolution but it is pleasing to see a local company doing all it can to expand, make use of Tamworth skills and talent and working closely with the Road Haulage Association to ensure that issues big and small are being heard by Government.

I wish the firm well and if you're interested in a career in driving, logistics or warehousing then take a visit to their website www.lloydstransport.com
