A number of residents have contacted me raising concerns about the future of autism services in Tamworth.
The services which were previously provided by Midlands Psychology CIC are due to come to an end on September 30th. This is because their contract has ended and no further extension had been agreed upon between the CCG and company.
The CCG will of course be putting the service back out to full tender and review bids put forward and this may be something that Midlands Psychology CIC and other companies apply to win. However, in the interim, to keep services going for the young people making use of regular support, Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) who manage mental health services in our area, will be the interim host provider.
MPFT will take over services from 1st October until a new provider is awarded the contract. This will help ensure that there is a smooth transition for patients, carers and their families. MPFT will be contacting young people who were making use of the service to follow up with further appointment details.
However, if as a service user, you have concerns about what support will remain in place for you, please contact PALS on the below details: 0800 030 4563 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
