The Energy Secretary has issued an appeal to industry to supply Ukraine with energy equipment to repair the widespread damage caused by Russian attacks on their infrastructure.
Since Russia's invasion began, over 40% of Ukraine's energy infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed, now we are approaching the winter months it is more vital than ever to get this back up and running.
The Emergency Response Coordination Centre of the European Union is working with the United Kingdom to deliver donations to the country, the Government is also providing £10m to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund and we are calling on manufacturers to help if they can with goods.
The top 5 most needed products are power transformers and generators, heaters, fuels and oils, trucks for repair and tools associated with the energy industry.
For electricity infrastructure, insulators, wires, cables and cable connectors, isolation valves, welding machines, vacuum and air switches as well as microcontrollers are needed.
For the gas sector pressure regulators, pipes, conveyances and plasma cutters are required, rubber products, motor oils and equipment for district heating systems.
If you can help in any way, please make contact with the Energy Community group on UkraineEmergencySupport@energy-community.org or find out more about the scheme online at https://www.energy-community.org/regionalinitiatives/Ukraine
Together we can help millions of families across Ukraine get through the winter months.
Thank you for all your support, the United Kingdom Government stands firm in the face of Russian aggression and continues to support Ukraine in the fight back against the invasion.
