Stamp Duty for non-uk resident home buying

The Government is considering levying a surcharge on any non-UK resident buying a home.  This is part of the Government's effort to help control the rise of house prices.

The Stamp Duty Land Tax will look at how a 1% increase stamp duty costs for non-UK residents buying residential property in England and Norther Ireland would work.  The consultation closes on the 6th May.

We would like to hear from as many people as possible, home owners, renters and people looking to buy a home.
