Shop Safe Project in Tamworth

Tamworth Borough Council has set up a 'shop safe' business advisory team to help with the reopening of the high street.

The Council was allocated £67,455 from the European Regional Development Fund to create safe shopping environments and establish safe trading practices following the Covid19 outbreak.

Many shops in our town centre are preparing to re-open from June 15 and so this team are on hand to work closely with any business thinking of re-opening or adapting how they work to ensure that their premises are Covid safe and that staff and customers are able to use their facilities safely.

The team will also be taking a wider look at Tamworth and how pinch point areas of the town centre can be improved to reduce the transmission of Covid19.

Any business that wants help and support or merely a check before reopening can email business@tamworth.gov.uk, the team are particularly interested in hearing from the small businesses who may not have received clear guidelines from sector groups, unions and professional bodies.
