The NHS has been working through their lists of patients to ensure those with the highest priority need get the vaccine first. While a good 95% of people in these categories have come forward and booked their vaccine there are still some who have not.
This may be due to being registered with the NHS, having moved house, missing post, forgetting your first appointment, missing it due to snow or poor weather or because you have been nervous and wanted to see how the vaccine programme went before coming forward.
The Government has now opened applications for people over 70 who have not been vaccinated and those on the with a shielding patient letter that have not yet been vaccinated to come forward and book an appointment.
You can do this online at www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination
if you know of somebody in this category who is not online, urge them to book using the 119 service or to contact their GP for a booking. For those who need it, GP surgeries are taking on new registrations.
All vaccination centres are operating on a Covid-safe basis but please do remember to wear a mask if you can. It is quick, it doesn't hurt and it could save your life.
