The 2019 Parliamentary Pub of the Year has opened nominations and Christopher Pincher MP is looking to nominate a local pub to take showcase down in London.
The competition, organised by the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Pubs, enables MPs to showcase the best pubs from their constituency on the national stage and provide publicity opportunities for the pub. Nominations close at the end of this month and so if so if any readers want to put forward their local, do get in contact with Chris.
The competition is looking for pubs that are great at what they do, be it serving drinks, entertaining or offering food. Nominated pubs hoping to qualify for the final will be expected to submit a video for the judges to watch so be sure you and the staff are not camera shy!
Commenting Christopher Pincher MP said;
“Pub goers often contact me about duty on beers, wines and ciders and I regularly discuss their views with the Treasury. I would therefore like to bring the winning landlord down to Parliament to not only discuss the challenges pubs face but to highlight the successes of small businesses in a complex climate.
“To be in for a chance to win, encourage your customers to contact me, letting me know why your pub is the best pub in the area! Nominations close at the end of this month so there’s plenty of time for them to phone in or email my office. There are some fantastic pubs in the area, offering great service, good prices and warm welcomes to all.”
