Since the Government first launched Help to Buy in 2013, 89 households in Tamworth have taken up the Equity Loan scheme to gain their first rung on the housing ladder.
Overall the scheme has seen more than 220,000 households be able to buy a home, including more than 180,000 first time buyers.
This means that four out of every five Help to Buy purchasers are first-time buyers and that with the support of equity loans from the Government to buy a new build home, more people are making their first steps on the housing ladder.
Local MP Christopher Pincher said:
"Help to Buy is helping to make the aspiration of home ownership a reality for more people across the country. It has already helped over 180,000 households buy their first home. The Equity Loan scheme is open to all who aspire to own a new-build home and the Help to Buy ISA is open to first-time buyers."
