Now I am back in my role as MP, I took a brief look at the some of the funding pots available which may help local residents. So take a look and see if any can help you launch your project.
Staffordshire Warmer Homes – Helping residents obtain central heating systems. Working in partnership with E-on and local authorities. You can apply online for more info www.staffordshire.gov.uk/Warmer-Homes/Staffordshire-Warmer-Homes.aspx
Severn Trent Community Fund – The fund gives away more than £10m to charities and community groups over the next 5 years. Interested in projects which help people gain new skills, create better places to live and boost the environment. Applications available all year around.

Save the Pub funding – The Government has announced £1.5m to fund community pubs. This will help communities take ownership of their local pub, particularly in remote areas. Grants vary depending on need, you can find out more here:
Acre Village Hall Improvements – Grants available from DEFRA to update and refurbish village halls to ensure they are fit for purpose for activities to improve health, reduce loneliness, boost the environment and support the rural economy. Grants vary depending on need but up to 20% of eligible costs to a max of £75k can be applied for.
Staffs Chambers Support – The local chamber of commerce has opened an Investment Readiness Programme which helps businesses applying for finance packages including loans and grants. Grants from the Chamber are available of between £1-£3k and they can fund 60% of professional support services. Email Matt.email@example.com for more info.
Idlewild Trust – Supporting charities which improve opportunities for young professionals working in the arts. Awards around £120k in each years grant with individual grants at a max of £5k. Closing date is 13th Feb
Pink Ribbon Foundation – The team are currently accepting applications for UK charities who help people who have had breast cancer, be it through early detection, treatment or caring. Grants of up to £5000 available with more on hand if necessary.
Funding for Community Gardens – Grants of up to £5k available for community groups to create garden or allotment projects which benefit the local community. Funding can cover site prep, tools, plants, trees and seating. Grants vary in size but are usually below £5k
Chemistry equipment for Schools – Schools can apply for a grant of up to £1k towards equipment to deliver chemistry lessons. Bids are invited for the purchase of items of equipment that cannot be purchased through the school’s mainstream teaching budget. A teacher at the primary or secondary school should make the application
