George Bryan Centre Update - have your say

I know many of you remain concerned about the future of the George Bryan Centre.  Since the fire the teams at the hospital have been working diligently to knock down the west wing which was destroyed in the fire and make the site safer to use again.

Residents across Tamworth are now being encouraged to have their say on what should happen next.

There are four engagement events running over the next few months.  If a General Election takes place shortly, I understand these events will be re-scheduled so as many people can participate as possible.

I am also making a request for an event closer to Tamworth's town centre as I know Coton Green Church may be less accessible for some residents reliant on public transport as well as for another event of an evening so those who are working can also participate.

The events are as follows

Wednesday September 25 Lichfield Room, Cathedral Hotel, 10am-1pm

Wednesday October 16th - Coton Green Church, Comberford 2-5pm and 6pm-9pm

Thursday October 17 - Room1, Burton Library, Burton on Trent - 2-5pm

While I know not all residents will be familiar with the George Bryan Centre as it specialises in mental health, both their in-patient and out-patient services are fantastic for those who need them.  Maintaining specialist mental health care in our local area is incredibly important as you never know when ill health will affect you and your family member.

I hope as many residents as possible are able to attend and have their say.
