Work on HS2 continues across the constituency, thankfully HS2 are also carrying out investment in our community through Community and Environment Fund.

Shenstone Village Hall was recently awarded £37,850 to install solar panels and a back up battery at the village hall.  This will help reduce the carbon emissions and energy bill at the site so the hall can remain affordable and open for the community.

I would like to see many more projects across Tamworth and the villages making use of the HS2 Community and Environment Fund, even if you are unsure about a project, run it by them, they have a team of experts who may be able to help you realise your plans.

HS2 are aware of how much disruption their work is causing to our area, it is only right that they give back and I am pleased to see that so far the projects they have been funding within the community have had a very sustainable and environmentally friendly focus.
