Entries for Tamworth MP’s Summer of Small Businesses opened

Last summer, Tamworth MP Christopher Pincher ran a campaign alongside the Mayor of Tamworth and Tamworth Have a Heart to highlight a different defibrillator each day. This summer the MP is highlighting our local, small and independent businesses.

Every day in August, a different business from across Tamworth and our villages will be highlighted through the Member of Parliament’s network. This is a great opportunity to show the variety of businesses we have in our area, as well as boosting Tamworth’s image.

With the Government and Council supporting small businesses through tax cuts, employee retentions schemes and loans/grants, this is another opportunity for small businesses to cut through the noise and to feature online for potential customers to see.

The MP is now looking for residents’ favourite businesses to highlight and why. To get involved nominate a business by emailing Christopher.pincher.mp@parliament.uk with as much information as you can to be in with a chance of being highlighted on a day in August.

Commenting, Christopher Pincher MP said:

“Over the summer month of August, I want to highlight our small and independent businesses who make up the backbone of the British economy. I know that COVID-19 has been tough, it has business owners and employees worried and I want to do what I can to support you.

“Many of you have been in touch with me and my office about the Government schemes available, and I know the Council too are working closely with businesses to support where they can. For me, it was a no brainer this year to highlight businesses and shops that we all use and love to visit.

“If you want to highlight your own business or want to highlight a business you use then please do get in touch with me by the end of the month on Christopher.pincher.mp@parliament.uk. I am really looking forward to seeing your favourite stores!”
