In addition to the Government Energy Bill Support Scheme (the £400 off your bills spread over the next 6 months), EDF energy have written to MPs to share details of additional support they are making available to their customers.
If you are an EDF customer struggling with energy bills you may find the following helpful:
The 1st step for your constituent to do is to register for help from our Priority Services to see how EDF can provide support. If after talking with the team, you are still finding yourself in debt...
The 2nd step it to apply for help through the 'Lets Talk' website – once signed up you will need your account number and details of household finances to hand for the application, as well as a current energy debt balances read.
In addition to the support above, EDF is providing a free 'Energy Hub' platform for customers with smart meters. This lets customers control their energy usage and see what appliances are using the most energy, helping you think twice, or make a more efficient appliance purchase.
Finally, EDF are working with their customers on installing energy-saving measures. For those interested you can find more details online here.
The team are contacting all of their most vulnerable customers to let them know about the schemes and as a customer you can call a support helpline to speak to somebody directly too - 0333 200 5100.
It is great to see that energy providers like EDF are taking steps to ease the burden on customers following high wholesale prices of gas. If you are an EDF customer struggling with high bills, please use the above tools, or contact me with your account details and I can follow up with the EDF team.
