Calling all carers - Lichfield Garrick Theatre has secured funding to continue their scheme of showing dementia friendly screenings through the theatre's new cinema facility.
The theatre with help from the McLay Dementia Trust and Film Hub Midlands will be showing a mix of classic oldies and recent films, the sound is reduced, lights are kept low and there's extra staff on hand to help if there is a disturbance or need for support.
The cinema offers a very supportive atmosphere which had a successful pilot and is now being expanded to a wider audience. Care homes are welcome to apply to attend as well as individuals.
Upcoming screenings include the Sound of Music, Downton Abbey and Singing in the Rain.
If you would like to learn more, book a ticket or find out what is being shown call 01543 412 121 or visit www.lichfieldgarrick.com
It's a great scheme helping to ensure that people with dementia and their carers are not isolated, can interact with society and enjoy some stress free fun!
