During the pandemic a number of people had difficulty visiting their loved ones in care homes and hospices. Regulations during the pandemic were focussed on stopping the spread of the virus and so tried to minimise contact to try to save lives.
The Government acknowledges the positive effect that visiting has on the emotional wellbeing of a person living in a care home or another residential care setting.
New regulations are now being considered to give the Care Quality Commission additional powers to allow families to visit loved ones. A consultation is being ran on the issue until mid-August. The Government would especially like to hear from people who have loved ones in care settings and those working in the care sector.

There is also some questions on hospital visitation, including accompanying patients to outpatient and diagnostic appointments.
I know residents and care staff across Tamworth and the villages can have some good input on this issue, so I hope you will give feedback and help the Government get the balance right on visitation, especially during periods of quarantine and infection control.
