The Claymore Lounge

While I was working in my office on Lichfield Street, my team popped into the newly finished Claymore Lounge in the Tamworth Assembly Rooms for their lunch break.  The place looks fantastic.

While no chef has been appointed and so the menu is paninis and cakes, the café makes a fab coffee with full support from Starbucks.  You can eat in or take away, and there's beautiful surroundings including a brief history of the Assembly Rooms.

So if you've jumped off the bus on Corporation Street and fancy a snack, or are looking for a quick and quiet stop whilst out and about in town, consider giving the Claymore Lounge a go!  It is open from 10am-2:30pm each day.

The Lounge opens again of an evening but this time for those attending the shows, the focus switches from food to drinks, with a great array of beers wines and nibbles to for during the show intervals.

Paninis and hot choccies mmmm!

It is so pleasing to see the lounge is named after Cllr Steve Claymore who sadly died last year.  Cllr Claymore was the pivotal figure behind the renovation of the Assembly Rooms and while he did not get the chance to see the completed project, his memory lives on in the build.  We all miss Steve but I know he would be proud to see the transformation of the Assembly Rooms.

I hope you will all take a visit, enjoy the shows and find some time to relax in the lounge.
