Our local Citizen's Advice team has set up a project to help employers and local residents from the EU get fully prepared for Brexit.
Whether you have lived here for 5 years or 20+ years, applying for settled status is a very new procedure and not everyone is sure what to do. Our local Citizen's Advice Team is running a specific project in a wide range of languages to help EU citizens apply for Settled Status.
While the deadline for applications is June of next year, it is good to get your application in early to ensure you can still work, rent, access the NHS or if necessary the welfare system once the Brexit transition period are over.
Unless you are a resident from the EU, EEA or Switzerland with indefinite leave to remain status, you may see changes next year unless you have made an application for Settled Status.
So if you want to make an application or begin the process, call the team on 01827 909101 or email EUSS@citizensadvicemidmercia.org.uk to make an appointment. You can also fill in the form here for advice. Face to face appointments are also available again if needed. It is a great free and impartial service, so if you are unsure, take a look, you may find it can help you get the application in.
Alternatively, if you want to apply directly yourself you can do so at https://www.gov.uk/settled-status-eu-citizens-families
As always if you are a local EU citizen and have made an application for Settled Status but not heard back, I would be happy to chase this up for you, just let me know the details.
