Changes to the CCGs explained

Our Clinical Commissioning Groups are now working much more closely together, saving funds and meeting local priorities with shared knowledge and resources.

It also means if you live in one part of Tamworth but see a GP elsewhere, like Lichfield or Cannock, there will be fewer problems around organising your care.

Marcus Warnes is the Accountable officer for the six clinical commissioning groups in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, in the video above he explains an overview of the CCG's successes and what they have planned for the future.

The CCGs make decisions on funding, care, prescriptions and work with bodies like the Council to address public health issues. The CCGs will now focus on reducing duplicated work and put that funding into helping the elderly, reducing waiting lists and encouraging local people to live healthier, longer lives.
