The Staffordshire Warmer Homes initiative has just launched in Tamworth. The initiative aims to install fully funded first time central heating systems into eligible homes across Staffordshire.
The project is funded by the £150m Warm Homes Fund, which has been established by National Grid to support local authorities to address some of the issues affecting fuel poor households.
Staffordshire County Council are working in partnership with E.ON and Tamworth Borough Council to run this initiative in your area. They are also encouraging the local police, fire and health services to make referrals into the scheme. The partnership has identified a number of households across Tamworth that could be eligible to get fully funded central heating installed in their home and they are sending letters out to all of these homes in the coming weeks.
However, all residents can apply for this scheme if they do not already have gas central heating, claim benefits or tax credits, have low or no income, are disabled, elderly or have very young children.
To make an application full in the form online at www.staffordshirewarmerhomes.co.uk or freephone the Staffordshire Warmer Homes team at E.ON on 0333 202 4481. Applications are open until the 28 June so do spread the word if you know any local resident who may benefit from this scheme.
