Tamworth Brewer Pulls Pints for MPs

This week I welcomed George from the Tamworth Brewing Co down to UK Parliament and get his 'Hoppy Poppy' served in the Strangers' Pub on the Estate.

He was also awarded with a certificate from the All Party Parliamentary Group on Beer for hosting his beer in Parliament.

Flu season approaches

It's that time of year - no not Christmas, it's nearly flu season!

People eligible for free vaccinations, especially those over the age of 65 in are being encouraged to take up the offer of a free flu vaccination as soon as possible.

December recycling bin changes

While most people write to me about national issues, a number of residents have been contacting my office about their recycling bins lately.

Tamworth and Lichfield have a joint waste collection service and are doing what they can to ensure as much waste is recycled as possible.

While the majority of my constituents live in Tamworth, many (like myself in Shenstone) live closer to Lichfield's town centre and so their nearest trains station is in Lichfield.

Letter to Santa

I've got a letter from Santa Claus asking to hear from all the girls and boys in and around Tamworth asking what they would like for Christmas. But be quick! In order to guarantee a response from him letters must be sent by 7th December to Santa's Grotto, Reindeerland, XM4 5HQ.

Chris Overwhelmed by Christmas Card Response

Wow what a response! Thank you to all the primary schools around Tamworth that have taken part in my Christmas card competition this year. I've received over 150 entries from pupils and can't wait to go through them all and select the best design.

Chris Welcomes New Pothole Funding

Chris has welcomed new funding for Staffordshire that will see more money than any other county in the West Midlands used for the repair and maintenance of roads.  

Chris Delighted by Record Unemployment Figures in Tamworth

Chris has welcomed figures released this week by the Office for National Statistics showing that Tamworth still has a below average unemployment claimant count when compared to the rest of the United Kingdom.
