Chris Pincher MP is backing Armed Forces Day as a great opportunity to show support for those who make up the Armed Forces community
‘Armed Forces Day’ takes place on Saturday 29 June and events will take place across the country including a Community Armed Forces Day events at the National Memorial Arboretum.
Our Armed Forces proudly defend the United Kingdom and all of its interests. They are busy working around the world, promoting peace, delivering aid, tackling smugglers, providing security and fighting terrorism.
Armed Forces Day provides a much-valued morale boost for the troops and their families and I encourage people to show their support.
The weekend is expected to be busy with thousands of people visiting the Memorial Arboretum to see the RAF flypasts, a parade at noon on Saturday and a formal service of thanks with wreath laying at 11:30am for those who have passed away in service.
There will also be WW2 themed assault courses for children, archery, climbing walls and zip lines. Forklift basketball and Segway rides, crafts, food and military displays.
This weekend is also a good time to remember that the Armed Forces Covenant Funding is available for veterans projects, families and serving members. You can find more information about the support available online at https://www.armedforcescovenant.gov.uk/
