In my role as local MP, I want to see as much of Tamworth and the surrounding villages as possible.  I am happy to visit local businesses, events, projects and learn more about the community.

Ordinarily I work Monday-Thursday in Westminster, this is because I need to be in the Houses of Parliament for the discussions, debates and of course votes.  Fridays I try to spend as much time as possible visiting people in the constituency, I also spend my weekends attending events.  During Parliamentary recess, I sometimes have opportunities to visit constituency projects of a weekday.

My role as Housing Minister sometimes means I will be visiting housing projects and developments across the country but I do what I can to visit the constituency as often as possible.

Local Events

Please include your full name, phone number and contact address.  Let me know the date and time of the event, the location of the event and the type of event.

Let me know if I need any specific equipment or clothing (yep, I have a pair of wellies if it's messy!) and whether I will be speaking with an audience or not.

It would also be helpful to know what press (if any) are attending or if you would like my office to run a press release of the event for you.

Should I need to park in a specific place, please try to let me know in advance as I am often driving from event to event!

Westminster Events

Similar to the above with name, contact number and room number (if Westminster Palace) or full address if elsewhere in London.  It'd be helpful to know whether any other MPs or Ministers have been invited and whether any of my constituents are attending.

If the events are for the wider community and you send along the promotional information in good time, I can try to offer some promotion through my social media channels.  Ideally I need the posters in a clear and easy to understand JPG format.  If you would like me to link your social media accounts in the post, let me know where I can find them.

For any instances where I cannot personally attend an event and you feel it worthwhile my staff attending, please let me know and I will try to send along a representative.  My staff are happy to take notes, photos and provide feedback and promotion where possible.

I keep an eye on the local newspapers and newsletters, popping into public events when I can so do keep me in the loop if there's an event going on.
