Backing our pubs

Pubs and breweries are a vital part of our town centres and villages.  From multinational brewers to microbreweries like the Tamworth Tap, the drinks industry employs hundreds of people across my constituencies and thousands more all over the United Kingdom.

The local pub is often a key place for residents to socialise, hold events and support good causes.  We have some fantastic pubs in the area and I will work hard to promote them.

I am supportive of freezes and reductions in beer duty, community ownership in rural areas and ensuring that pubs, despite being larger buildings, can still operate with affordable business rates in our high streets.

Changes to Covid19 restrictions

It has been nearly two months since the Prime Minister addressed the nation to impose restrictions on movement to help us all try to curb the transmission of Covid19.

Bounce Back Loans being issued

Small businesses across Tamworth will benefit from a new fast-track finance scheme providing loans with a 100% government-backed guarantee for lenders.

More local and national help for business

Today the Chancellor announced a new 'bounce back' loans scheme.  This is a 100% Government backed loan scheme which will enable small businesses borrow up to £50,000 and access the cash within days.

Casework Report - January

One of the crime issues I am seeing more and more in my casework, is a rise in fraud and cyber crime.  Part of addressing and responding to this is being aware of where flaws may be, either through software and hardware or even through day to day social engineering.
